Songs often reflect the social, political and cultural events of the time in which they are created. Artists may respond to wars, political events, social movements, economic crises, disasters and other significant events through their lyrics.
This project will explore how Natural Language Processing (NLP), AI and data analysis can be used to identify references to historical and current events in song lyrics. The project could investigate whether patterns in lyrics can be used to detect events, identify when they occurred, and examine how different events are represented through music.
The project may involve analysing a large collection of song lyrics and comparing linguistic patterns with timelines or datasets of significant historical and contemporary events.
