The tools available for low-level debugging of programs running on ARM Cortex platforms in Visual Studio Code can be cumbersome, inflexible and unpredictable or even faulty. The project will develop a new set of tools for visualising the state of the processor and memory and for visualising and controlling program flow. The tools will integrate with Visual Studio Code and will have an educational focus appropriate to novice and intermediate programmers.
This project is most suited to a Year 4 student with prior knowledge of the ARM architecture and assembly language.
