Using timelines to visualise critical data is particularly useful for domain experts to examine and analyse a wide range of data. For example for Historians a timeline visualisation such as seen in the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland (https://timelines.virtualtreasury.ie/timelines/) is really helpful. This user interface was developed a number of years ago, and the intention of this particular project is to re-visit the technologies underpinning and consider how features of this approach might be better integrated into the VRTI KG explorer (https://vrti-graph.adaptcentre.ie/). Thus this project already has a code base, user feedback, domain experts and end users that can act as a springboard for the project.
